Hi, I'm Lauren Buchan

I’m a Christchurch local with over eight years’ experience across generalist HR, advisory, operations, recruitment, compliance, and process improvement.

My career spans a range of industries and environments. I began working in a recruitment agency, partnering with diverse clients across multiple sectors and gaining strong commercial insight into hiring, people capability, and business needs. I then moved into in‑house HR roles, working specifically within the logistics and transport industry, followed by more recent corporate HR experience in a law firm environment.

This breadth of experience allows me to bring practical, grounded HR support that’s adaptable, commercially aware, and aligned to how businesses actually operate.

I work with small to medium-sized businesses that want reliable, hands-on HR support without the overhead of an internal HR role or a large consultancy. As a one-person consultancy, my work is personal. I take the time to understand your people, your culture, and your challenges, so the HR support fits your business — not a generic template.

My role is to be your trusted HR partner: someone you can call for advice, administration, guidance, or simply to get things done properly and efficiently. My approach is warm, practical, and commercially minded, with a strong focus on compliance, clarity, and building workplaces that feel aligned, engaged, and easy to run.
